For 2nd cutting my friend Megan was able to come out with me and Jacob! We started out at 9am on July 28th and made the long journey to our family in Northern Central NV.

One of the jobs out there is
gopher trapping!

Megan found, dug out, set the trap, flagged her hole and cought a gopher,
her first time.

While we were gopher trapping Megan found a
frog and my nephews (who were with us)
loved it as only a little boy can:)

(Kason with the frog and Kale with a sea shale)

Megan now
drives! Will... almost :)

Megan learned to drive my
stick shift car! And to be honest there was a few times I feared, not really for my life but for my cars. But after 1 or 2 goes at it she was able to quite nicely drive. I was thoroughly impressed tho, she caught on much faster then most people do.
She still has a little work with starting the car :) but she was getting the hang of that to before we left the farm!

This is what my car looked like after Megan's first time driving it:)
we were going to check are gopher traps in the field (that was being watered)
and there was good size puddle of water. Seeing it and not sure how deep it was and with my car being
very low to the ground I told Megan not to go through it and then Megan did nothing ells but went right through the middle of it:) it was very exciting we were skidding and swerving I thought we would get stuck especially when Megan drove the car in to some weeds that were close to the same height as my car but Megan pulled through and we mad it out:)
Stranded!

We were on a four-wheeler taking Audrey (my cousin) to swath and in the middle of the filled the four-wheeler
stopped (Note: this was also Megan's first time driving a four wheeler on the farm:) But it turned out that the cause of this delay was my fault I had forgot to fill it up with gas:) So these are our wonderful pictures of being stranded while we waited for Ang (my sister) to bring us gas. Who we were able to get a hold of on Megan's phone (sins I don't have one) through a searys of phone number exchaging from lots of people.

It was fun despite the heat:)
Mikey's Birthday!

For my uncles birthday we all got together and played Pool, Ping Pong and board games.
And these are just some of the amazing moves Megan and I did while
trying to play pool.

(The face of a Jacob after doing something amazing in Ping-Pong)
Raking.
(This job is done at 2 in the morning!)

I tolled Megan how when Raking we are usually
loud, off key and singing away.
Megan had no problem it seemed joining in with my wonderful singing, in fact one morning she sang 5 hours strait even when I had stopped!

(Me, Megan and Audrey. Audrey was usually with us:)

The sun rise, is SO pretty there!

See? Singing:)

Megan also learned to drive the
Rake Tractors!
One morning I was just so tired I could not keep my eyes open!
So while I slept for a little while Megan drove, that was really nice!
Trucking!

Another one of the many jobs out on the farm. It only took Megan 3 times of driving this with me before she was able to do it completely by herself.
That got to be very boring tho cause thin we took different tucks and I was all alone :(

The name of Megan's truck was Audi short for Automatic

My trucks name was Big Mama
(Me)
(Megan)
Loading.
This is one of the few jobs I don't know how to do on the farm so we never got to try this one out really, but Loaders have air conditioning and the Semi-Trucks don't! So while we are waiting for the loader to unload the hay bales off are trailers, some times we will go and ride in the nice air conditioned cab of the loader.

(One of the many wonderful things you can do on a Semi. when bored)
(Jacob)
Baby-Sitting.
(Kason)
COW!
My brother-in-law (Nate) is a hunter and so knows how to butcher and all that stuff.
This is one of our cows that we have on the farm.

Nate's dad, Carry.
"Dr. Seuss rocks."

This is one of the mountains near are farm, but this was my first time ever being there.
Lydia, (another cousin) Megan and I went on a four-wheeler up there, and it got very dusty.
When we arrived there Megan took out her hair clip and this is what her hair looked like.

It was Really tricky trying to get us all in a picture sins there was no one ells to take some of us:)
So I had to balance my camera on this very delicate bush thing and then in
10 seconds (I couldn't get my camera to give me more time) I had to scale the cliff turn around and smile
We Did It!
Swathing.

We were only able to go swathing twice (this is one of the most favorite jobs out there) but even so Megan learnd to drive this big lawn mower:) And once again she blew me out of the water with how fast she understood what was going on, how to do it and how well she could drive.
Way to go Megan!
Justin's Fort
(Justin)

Yes this seems to be a very ordinary bucket but look again...
(Lindsey)

When climbing in side you see a whole in the side of this bucket ...

And climbing in to this whole you well discover this fort, fully equipped with air conditioning, sound system, lights and more out lets for what ever ells you wont. This fort was built by my 14 year old cousin who designed and built entirely by himself WOW!
(Kelsey)
(Megan, Justin and Myself)

Justin, Joshua, (Justin brother) Oshlin, (Joshua's friend) Megan
Me, Lindsy (sister of the J boys) and Kelsey (another sister)

Not sure whats going on here but I liked it :)

After a wonderful time with Megan on the farm it was time for her to go home so that she could get ready, for her first year in the High School building! But the cutting (a cutting is when the farmers do the work they need to do to make bales of hay to sale) was not over so me and Jacob were just going to take Meg home then come back.

The sky was doing some amazing things on the way home I wish my camera could have captured it better.

Thanks Megan for coming it was great to have you there! :)

After getting Megan home late the night of August 8th Jacob and I went home got some sleep and then were ready to go again at 9 in the morning but after saying are good byes to are family we all decided that they (Dad, Mom, Adrielle and Anne) should come with us. So they did!
So we ended up leaving at about 12. The drive to the farm now seems very short and we got there in no time at all (it was about 8 - 9pm).
The next day we started work again and while I was out in the feild Ben (my cousin) found that a snake had gone through a Baler (another tractor, this is the one that makes the hay in to bales) so now this poor snake was half in and half out of a bale. Though this snake was badly torn up it was still alive and had bitten Ben's shoe many times.
Nieces and Nephews!
(Kale Black, Craig Hunt and Kason Black)
Junk!
I did it! I now have proof of me burning villages lol. And that I like hot stuff ;)
(Before)
(After)

More junk.
Glen (one of my uncles)

Here is some cool loaders.

Anne's first time going raking. Elle went to but she was with Jacob.
(Anne, Audrey and Elle)
The twins have now learned how to drive a Semi thanks to Audrey:)

See we still have fun when working!
Side Note: when we came back to the farm every one would say stuff like "Wheres Megan?!" or "Wow it's weird to see you without Megan." And so on and so forth.
Puzzle.
The family reunoin started on the 11th! every day we would do a little on this puzzle, we barely finished it before every one went home.
Dr. Rocks Again!
Some of us cousins went up to Dr. Seuss Rocks.

This was also the twins first time going to Dr. Seuss Rocks.

Okay so here is a weird tradition that us Farrs have. Rolling boulders off the mountain (when ever we go on a hike).

Anne, Katrina, Rachel, Me and Elle.
What do you See?

This was some of us that went on the hike.

"Baby Shower!"

My Cousin Laressa is going to have a baby boy! (Aidan Lyle Dickerson)

Some one went on to the internet and put Laressa and her husband picture together and the picture on Laressa's stomach is what the internet said Aidan will look like :)
Josh Richardson.
Josh was coaxed by his older brother Matthew, to put his head in a bowl of red cool-aid. Josh didn't like the sounds of it but after a lot of pushing and the promise of money he did it.
(Before)

It took a while a scrubbing to get the cool-aid off, but no matter how much they scrubbed they could not get it all off.
(After)
"The Mines."

Something that my family loves to do is go to these abandon mines ! I have often heard there stories about them and I really wonted to go so this year with some cousins I went. it's about a half hour drive to these mines from are farm.

There were many different mines all over this mountain and while looking for Katrina's favorite mine, we a new one (it was new to every one in are group).
It was just a hole in the ground at it was very hard to see the bottom, Josh got out his repelling gear and started the repel. I don't know much about setting that stuff up but I have seen my brother-in-law (K.C.) set it up a lot and he is a trained professional at repelling, and what Josh was doing looked nothing like what K.C. does so I was so to speak SCARED! Josh reached the bottom barely. After looking around he found it was just a hole and went no where. So then he started the climb back up. Before he went down I had asked him if he knew how to get up but brushing thinking he knew how to hook up his gear so he could climb he went down. Then when he was ready to come back up he wasn't sure how to do it so he ended up scaling the wall it was very slow and precarious but Josh made it out, alive!

An entrance to one of the mines.

When we found Katrina's Favorite mine we went through the whole thing. There was one place where we had to scale the walls up and when all of us were up then we looked around and found it was a dead end. Going down was a lot harder then up, but we all made it. There were some bats that we woke up they weren't to happy with us but they only dived at us a few times but then when we wouldn't move they stopped I think mostly they just wonted to get away from are lights.

This was one of the braces.

will we made it safe and sound and even tho I was scared of what might happen it really was a blast but now after being there I have no idea why you would wont to go again:)
Family.
(This was most of us but after going threw names there is still about 25 or more of us not in this picture)
Grandma.
When Megan was on the farm should would often comment on how agile Grandma was. And it's true when ever the phone rings she
runs to get it and she is always up
doing something as
fast as can be.
Jacob.
Nephi.
Mathew Richardson.
This is one of the cousins that I have no memory of (besides pictures) the reason why is he is 26 (something like that) and was never on the farm when I was. But he is very fun and continually doing something.
Audrey, Anne and Elle
had all asked me to do there hair and this is what they got.
They loved it!
Papa & Mama.
This is the best mom has done on the farm for 17 years! It was great to see them both out there enjoying themselves :)
Tyler Woodland.
He was my brother for last summer when I went up and stayed with his family in Wyoming.
Karen.
(Tyler's Mom)
Savannah & Celeste.
Ammon.
Katrina.
Kason, Nathan, Ashlynn, Angela & Kale.
Craig & Savannah.

Play-Ground.

This is what all the entry ways looked like while family was there.

The Family Reunion is still going on but it was time for my family to come home so early on the 17th of August we started home. When we reached the state line we all got out so we could stand in two places at ones.
K.C., Craig & Celeste

Ones again the sky was doing amazing things!

We stopped at this little town on the way (I can't remember the name of it) and it had some interesting things in it like, an upside down STOP sign.

Oh Man Clouds are
amazing!
Savannah.

Have I told you yet how Amazing the sky is?

This was cool/weird you now how you can see rays of light coming from the sun, well this time it was rays of dark!

Now we are home and summer is done and school has begun. But those were my wonderful summer adventures:)
"Well, What did you think of that post?"

fun times. Thanks for posting cute pictures of Savannah to make up for her bug like ones :)
Whoa! THAT is a serious post! I didn't quite realize how much was going on during those three weeks until you put it together like that - pretty impressive. And I must say: you certainly have flair, WG! Way to go!
Ya it was insane how much was going on. I can't believe that all that happened in three weeks time!
but it sure was fun and it was really good to see you and thanks for giving me and Megan food, roof and a couch and floor :) The whole thing was AWESOME!!!
